Strong cuts shorter pauses and quieter sounds

How it works

1

Drop your recording

It stays on your device — nothing is uploaded.

2

Silence detected & cut locally

Silent gaps are found and removed right in your browser via WebAssembly.

3

Download the result

See how much dead air was cut, then download for free — no watermark.

Study the content, skip the waiting

Recorded lectures are the least dense media students consume: the pause while the professor writes, the silence during slide transitions, the gap after "any questions?". None of it helps you learn, and all of it is detectable by loudness. The Strong preset removes those stretches automatically while a kept margin around every cut keeps sentences natural.

Combined with 2× playback — either your player's speed button or our speed changer for a permanent copy — a 90-minute lecture becomes a focused half-hour session. Everything runs locally, so recordings that aren't yours to share (most university content) never leave your machine.

Frequently asked questions

Why the Strong preset for lectures?

Lectures are one-directional — there is no conversational rhythm to preserve, so shorter pauses can go too. Strong cuts gaps down to about a third of a second, which routinely shaves 15–30% off a recorded class without touching a single word.

Video lecture or audio-only — which should I keep?

If the slides or board matter, keep video: the cuts stay frame-synced, though the re-encode takes a while for long recordings. If you only relisten, the audio-only export is much faster and the file is a fraction of the size.

Can I also speed the lecture up?

Yes — remove the silence first, then run the result through our speed changer at 1.5× or 2×. The two compound: a tightened lecture at 2× typically plays in under 40% of the original time.

Is it really free?

Yes. The silence remover is completely free, with no signup, watermarks, or limits. We make money from our video translation service, not from this tool.

Do you upload my files?

No. The silence removal happens locally in your browser using WebAssembly. Your file never leaves your device — you can even disconnect from the internet once the page has loaded.
